Secrets of Success

Alright, day 2.

I know you all were wondering how the competition turned out, so here's the results.
I got 1st place, closely followed by two of my biggest inspirations, Tammy and Lou!
Overall the competition has been fantastic health wise, and it was great fun!
A lot of people have been asking what's the secret to losing so much weight, so here's my answer...

Consistency.

I was very consistent in everything I did. I worked out on a consistent basis. I counted calories consistently. I ate foods that weren't as good for me in moderation, but I still ate them. I read as many diet and nutritional tips as I could find and I found a way to incorporate parts of them into my everyday life. The most important thing to remember is that this is not a diet, it's a change of lifestyle. Once you figure that out you will be successful at weight loss or weight maintenance.

Of course I used tools along the way that helped motivate me. Shakeology has been the best investment I've made in my entire life. It's what has allowed me to lose weight consistently and still get the vitamins and nutrients that I need on a day to day basis. Like I have said from Day 1 (Sept. 1, 2010) of the competition, I can't control what I owe on my student loans, or how much money I make at the Y, but I can control what I eat, what I spend my money on, and what is important in my life. Deciding that my health was in the top 5 (God, Family, Friends, Health, Work) of my goals was a big step for me. Now it has become a passion of mine and I hope to help as many willing persons that realize their health is important to them as well!
